Ode to Turning 60.

“Never beg for a seat, when you can build your own table.

Know when to get up and leave.

Know what is on the menu and what will never be served.

Choose well.

It’s okay to walk away. It’s okay to be true to yourself.

There will be nasty people and tough times, learn to navigate both.

Trust that small mighty voice in your gut.

Do the right thing. Always. No matter what.

Do the right thing.

Get rid of those people who deplete and take and take and take.

You cannot, ever, ever change people. Stop trying.Change the way you respond.

When people show you who they are-believe them.

There is value to your worth. Know it. If people can not appreciate the value of your worth, leave. People will always find the money for less than-but somehow never find the money for worth. Let them find and pay for less than.

Eat to refuel.

Rest your body and your bones.

Put yourself on the list.

Have the Negroni.

Wear a bikini.

Dive in cold water.

Plan and take the trip.

Write handwritten thank-you notes and love letters.

Be aware. See the owl in the tree and the seedling in the ground.

Heal from childhood hurts. It will take a long time. You get to heal.

Loss comes.Accept it.

Death comes. Accept it.

Be in the living.

Be in nature.

Create.

Do what you think you can never do. Your soul will thank-you.

Care for the children.

Pets are furry people.

Decide where your giving should go. Don’t worry about the return.

Be a parent to your child.Even when they are adults. Parent with love. It’s the hardest thing you will do and yet the most rewarding.

Know the power of truth.

Speak your mind. Even if no one is listening.

Speak your heart.Even if no one cares.

Show up.

Or stay home.

There are people who are imprinted on your soul.Tell them you love them. We are all connected. It does not mean you need to always be the bridge, or the doormat, or the one way street. You can be the bump in the road and you can disconnect.

Love. Love. Love.

Do more of what you love.

Love, love, love.”-
